I recently spent half a day with the girls at a playground, playing in the sand and collecting twigs, stones and small pieces of trash we found laying around, such as caps to water bottles. We used our collection to create a “trash city” in the sand,  as the short one called it. It was such a wonderful time I took photos and when we returned home I thought I should make a special book to remember this.

I created a book using pieces of rounded corner wood for the front and back covers. I painted them a soft green, wrapped the cover in string and glued a twig in the center. I created interior pages out of soft grey paper and bound the pages using my Your Story book binding machine. I then glued the front and back cover to the interior pages. I ordered the photos from our “trash city” activity and am placing them in the book to capture our special day.

It is spring time and along with flowers comes ladybugs. Using the Your Story machine I created this cute ladybug book for the short one and the smallest one. I made a sewn red and black felt ladybug top for the front cover and then cut all of the pages out of white card stock in the round shape to match the top, next I illustrated each page with a story I wrote called Leatrice Loves Candy. I bound the edge of the pages using the Your Story and then finally glued the fabric cover on.

These are the individual illustrated pages of the story book

The gum drops and candies were cut on the Cricut and the “Yum” on the last page was created using the Country Life embossing folder on the Cuttlebug. The green line throughout is colored masking tape  — Happy crafting xoxo

Happy Valentines day! I made this fun book out of manila file dividers, scrapbook paper and my Your Story machine. For the decorative skull on front I used my Cuttlebug and the Beware die and embossing folder combo on clear plastic. All of the pages were tucked in and bound on my Your Story machine.

A simple project as we all gear up for the holidays is a gingerbread book. Make this book and you’ll be ready to write a story in it, do drawings in it or tape in photographs of your gingerbread house making party.  This book is made using the fabulous new Your Story Photo machine.

I call this book almost handmade because the outer cover shell was store bought and I decorated it. Ahhhh . . I love the ease of that. Provo Craft sells the covers called Album Covers but I thought they were a little uhm  you know sleepy – so I had to give it some pizazz.  This book is ready to be used as a journal, a scrapbook, a photo album, a story book or maybe I’ll give it as a gift and let the gift receiver make that decision. For the creation of it I used acrylic paint, paper, fabric, ribbon, a button, thread, tape, glue and stamps. To put the book together I used the Your Story.
