In my ongoing Roald Dahl obsession of late, I workshopped BFG Dream Jars with the kids in my daughter’s classroom.

I used images of Mason jars that I found online and copied them onto cardstock. Download the  Mason Jar Image File

In the classroom, we talked about the BFG and how he collected dreams in jars. I asked the kids to think of the best dream they could imagine waking up to in the morning. They wrote those dreams down on the cutout paper jars and then decorated the paper jars with markers, stars, glitter and hearts.  Then for the final step, we put dots of glow in the dark paint, just like the glowing lights in the book/movie.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

This year I am totally into creating videos for the latest project called Creative Clarity Labs. I wanted to do a Thanksgiving edition and thought one time I remember seeing a draw your our placemat project. I thought and thought about it and suddenly remembered oh – it was me! Not some other site but mine! Funny – it was five years ago so you know – memory eludes me.

Years ago I created a thanksgiving placemat project for the Phoenix New Times. You can view that HERE.

So enjoy the 2015 edition on YouTube and Subscribe because we are making weekly videos that are a hilarious good time!

If I set aside time everyday to write I feel whole. Writing time calls for prep time this means good smells from fresh flowers, a great pen, Hot tea for sipping and ice water. When the weather is beautiful as it so often is in Phoenix, I sit outside on my back porch and write. It is a delicious life.

It’s that time of year – January makes us contemplate the year ahead and all of the things we’d like to accomplish. I am not big on making resolutions but instead I focus on setting goals. I sat down recently and made goal lists for the coming year and when I painted them I thought to myself that I should share these as inspiration sheets. So here are short and long term goal sheets. Only write down three to five goals as that allows you to be more focused. Also,  be specific with your goals because being to broad or too abstract allows you to get out of it.
