Cyndi’s home, a ranch-style house built in 1958, is a stunning ode to all things found, reclaimed, and vintage. It’s a home you can stare at for hours: peering into glass-fronted cases, admiring collections of ceramics, and wondering at the story behind each object. It’s about as far away from childproofed as you can get. Nevertheless, it’s home to two girls both under the age of eight.
During Christmas I made a Vintage Christmas Bulb Wreath and loved it so much that I thought why not keep going for all different holidays and times of the year. I had a great time making this on for Valentines Day. I bought a heart shaped wreath at Joann’s and then loaded it up with red, white and pink bulbs along with metal and plastic hearts I had on hand. LOVE! Next up St. Patrick’s Day – stay tuned for that in March.
I was so inspired when I saw Georgia Peachez Vintage Christmas Bulb Wreath that I knew I had to gather up the vintage bulbs I had and make one. It is so pretty and I am so thrilled to have it as part of my holiday decor. Then totally inspired, my mom and my neighbor, who is like a second mom both made their own versions. Here they all are:
We have a birthday party to attend this weekend and I took the gift on as an opportunity to create something special from a selection of dollar store finds. I bought a few toy princess play sets and a t-shirt all in shades of purple. I used glitter, ric rac and flowers that I had on hand to customize each piece and make a special gift for the birthday girl! In the images you can see before and after shots.
