Ideas For You

It is Hello Kitty’s birthday this month and what better way to celebrate then to craft up something pink and saccharin sweet. Ms. Kitty’s founder, Sanrio, is celebrating its 50th anniversary with Small Gift — a tour complete with a pop up shop. Look for this today on Mill Avenue (in front of American Apparel) from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m..

Join the party and toast to Kitty’s birthday wearing a very Hello Kitty neon pink, side-angled bow. You can go online or to the pop up shop and buy a headband bow for $30 but this Thrifty Maker is after the look with out spending the dough.

The fun kicks off at 2 pm on Roosevelt and runs until 6 pm when the Parade of Arts starts, there should be some groovy floats there. Also going on today is the Local First Fall Festival at Duck and Decanter, I have note cards in the raffle over there. Fun stuff people – see you out and about today!

Fall is pie. It just is. We wait all summer to get at some and so why not wear your pie love on your chest next to your heart. Let the world know your true love by making a necklace. This crafty project is inspired by the pie social happening this weekend in Phoenix that is sponsored by Chow Bella.

Learn how to make a pie loving necklace by reading my piece over at the Phoenix New Times Jackalope Ranch: Wear Your Love For Pie

Party planning for Halloween night I had to touch the spooky to every surface. I made these martini glasses an instant Halloween hit by cutting spiders out of vinyl on the Cricut using Halloween cartridges and attaching them to the outside of the glasses. I also painted my fingernails black and cut a skeleton head out of white vinyl on the Cricut and made finger nail decals. I am all set for the party!
