The Cricut Mini arrive today! Time to set it up and start playing! I have the Cricut Craft Room set up and have been using it with my other Cricut’s. Looking forward to test driving this little thing. It is for 8 1/2 x 11.
I used the Cricut Sweater Weather Cartridge to create an ugly Christmas sweater t-shirt design. I did this because I live in Arizona and even on Christmas day a sweater can be a bit warm. So this year when we are invited to an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party I thought I’d create the Christmas sweater concept that could be layered with a long sleeve t-shirt.
To make this I cut the designs out of black card stock using the Sweater Weather Cartridge. The shapes are cut at Tree and Reindeer 3 in, Hearts and arrows 1 1/2 in, Stars 1 in. I then used those shapes to burn a YUDU screen and printed onto white canvas cotton t-shirts with red ink. I made a tone of these to give away to my friends.
I am writing for National Novel Writing Month – I am up to 30,000 words – hoping to hit 50,000! I am breaking only to make some visual art journaling pages, about writing!
Workshop: Visual Art Journaling at Shemer Art Center Wednesday, November 9 from 9 am to 12 noon
This workshop will celebrate the everyday by designing and creating a visual art journal. Participants will receive writing and materials prompts to work with for each page. Â Supply fee of $5/person

I love Halloween. I always have and I think it is because it doesn’t require stressful family time, it is all about dressing up and acting like a character. Orange is also my favorite color so that gives and edge to the holiday for me. I am going to start posting several new Halloween projects but I thought I’d take a minute to kick off the 2011 season by revisiting Halloween projects from last year. Click HERE to see some great ideas from 2010.
