Ideas For Home

What’s better then home cooking? Home cooked baked goods – that’s what!  This week I am sharing the brownies I made for Valentine’s Day and decorated with powdered sugar. What made these extra special? I used my Cricut and the Valentines Day Cartridge: Love Struck to cut out paper “candy hearts” designs. I laid those paper cut outs on top of the brownies and used a flour sifter to coat with powdered sugar. Results? Love, kisses and a smiles all around.

Step 1: Mix up Brownie Recipe. For my homemade brownies click here: Valentines Brownies

Step 2: Pour the mix into a 5 inch pan.

Step 3: Take out of the oven, allow to cool, place paper cut outs on top

Step 4: Fill a hand squeeze flour sifter with powdered sugar and coat the top of the brownie. Remove paper hearts.

Step Five: Enjoy!

It’s super bowl eve do you know what you’re bringing to the party? Why not be the hero and take something to make the vegetarian friends happy and no one needs to tell the meat eaters that those are veggie crumbles and not beef or turkey.

Make this chili the day before and if you don’t take it to a super bowl party you’ll have the large pot full all week long for left-overs.

Since I am working on spiffing up my entire office area I decided I needed to make a new mouse pad.

This little number is so super cute stuff! I used my Cricut and the Create-A-Critter cartridge to cut the hedgehog design out of layers of felt and fabric that I then sewed together to make a perfect desktop companion.

And here is the re-styled after:

The New Year always begs for an organization make-over, and taking baby steps can make this an easier process. How about starting with the office supplies drawer? Get the paperclips and rubber bands out of hiding and make them an accessory to your workspace.

Have you hit the after Christmas sales yet? One thing that is always a good bet is rolls of wrapping paper but not necessarily to use for gift wrapping. Make some New Years Eve decorations out of pretty paper.
