Ideas For Gifts

A couple of new cards I recently made. The pink skull design is screen printed with a “love” charm and the the guitar card is cut glitter paper with a “wish” charm. Loving the combo of cards with charms.

As summer draws to a close, well in most place, here in Phoenix we’ll hold on to the heat through Halloween. So I should start that as others are thinking about putting away the summer clothes I wanted to take a minute to post about all the simple and cute sun dress I made the short one. They are all that simple elastic Ruching Mock Smock Cotton cloth that you can buy by the yard. The short one is so thin I can buy 1/2 or 3/4 of a yard, add on some ribbon for trim and straps, sew a back seam and boom – dresses! I love who ever came up with making this a simple product.

I was looking to give a card and a T-shirt yarn flower pin to a friend and thought why not make a combo using them together? So this is a card with a removable flower pin attached to it.

For this project I used my Cricut and a Cartridge called Something to Celebrate really offers something to celebrate! It is totally cuties and totally tween! Just my style! There are cakes with faces, candies and tiaras.

I used the candies on the Something to Celebrate Cartridge and cut out all of the layers onto different colors of glitter, jewel tone paper. I glued them together and added Ranger Glossy Accents on the top, sides and back of the shapes. While still tacky, I embedded amethyst jewels on to the front and the necklace findings on to the backs. I braided purple embroidery floss and added a Busy Kids Plastic Necklace Clasp.

Summer time in Arizona is really like January in Minnesota, only brown instead of white. We lack living vegetation and long for flowers, which we’ll have to wait until February to see. So I decided to use the Flower Shoppe Cartridge to create a Felt Bouquet. These are also all pins so they have a dual purpose! I used my Cricut to cut card stock to use as templates to cut out the felt pieces. I also used my Cuttlebug and some of the flower dies to cut out the felt flower shapes. Once I glued all the felt pieces together with Tacky Glue, I attached vintage buttons and then glued pin backs to all of the flowers. They are ready to wear or gift.
