This present was for a good friend of mine’s little boy on his 5th birthday. The theme is rough and tumble, frogs and snails and puppy dog tails. The outer wrapping was distressed with a sanding bar and the ribbon was “dirtied†with coffee ground.
The snail is cut on the Cricut using the Live Simple cartridge , the frog is cut using the Animal Kingdom cartridge, the puppy tail was just cut by hand. The gift inside is bubble bath, soap and bath toys because hey a little boy playing can get really dirty!

Follow me on Twitter I am Lab5.
The smallest one was living in a space with her sister’s hand-me-down mobile so I thought it time to make her one of her own. I created a mobile using card stock and pink printed paper out of an old Neiman Marcus Catalog for her room. To the balloon basket I added a small bit of ribbon lace.
All items were cut on the Cricut. The hot air balloons with flags were created using the Everyday Pop-Up Cartridge. The air plane and “Day Dream” phrase we create using the Just A Note Cartridge (which is a built-in cartridge on the new Cricut Expression 2: Anniversary Edition) and the clouds were cut from the Create-A-Critter cartridge.
All items are hanging from the Hanging Photo Mobile by Kikkerland.
When the short one requested that the theme of her 5th birthday be “Under The Sea” I thought, this will be fun. I busted out the Cricut to make table top decorations that looked like aquariums. To do this I covered Subway Sandwich 3 foot delivery boxes with blue plastic table clothes, the boxes were left over from my friend Carrie (of Suchity Such) son’s birthday party – I thought they were a perfect re-use item. I then cut fish and octopus from the Create-a-Critter Cartridge and glued them on. I then used Wite-Out markers to make bubbles.
To save the memory of the day I made a matching photo frame by painting a ply-wood frame metallic blue, attaching aqua washi tape and then matching octopus and gluing on googly eyes, I will put a picture from the birthday party once I print them.
For snacks at the party I filled clam shell bowls with gold fish crackers and chocolate “treasure” coins.
Finally, I made cupcakes topped with plastic swords and blue frosting for the boys and plastic mermaids with purple frosting for the girls.

It is spring time and along with flowers comes ladybugs. Using the Your Story machine I created this cute ladybug book for the short one and the smallest one. I made a sewn red and black felt ladybug top for the front cover and then cut all of the pages out of white card stock in the round shape to match the top, next I illustrated each page with a story I wrote called Leatrice Loves Candy. I bound the edge of the pages using the Your Story and then finally glued the fabric cover on.
These are the individual illustrated pages of the story book
The gum drops and candies were cut on the Cricut and the “Yum” on the last page was created using the Country Life embossing folder on the Cuttlebug. The green line throughout is colored masking tape — Happy crafting xoxo
