For this project I used my Cricut and a Cartridge called Something to Celebrate really offers something to celebrate! It is totally cuties and totally tween! Just my style! There are cakes with faces, candies and tiaras.

I used the candies on the Something to Celebrate Cartridge and cut out all of the layers onto different colors of glitter, jewel tone paper. I glued them together and added Ranger Glossy Accents on the top, sides and back of the shapes. While still tacky, I embedded amethyst jewels on to the front and the necklace findings on to the backs. I braided purple embroidery floss and added a Busy Kids Plastic Necklace Clasp.

I found a sad looking chair that I knew I could re-style into something clean and fabulous! I used my Cricut and the Close To My Heart Cricut Art Philosophy Collection.

I removed the seat from the chair and pull off all of the fabric and foam. I sanded the chair, tape off the front bottom legs, spray painted it white and then once it dried I used a sanding block to shabby chic it. For the seat I cut squares and rectangles of the the light and dark grey papers included in the Close To My Heart Cricut Art Philosophy Collection. On some of the cut pieces I used a stamp from the My Acrylix®  Philosophy Tags clear stamp with green ink from the kit. I then used the pattern paper from the kit to cut branches and the orange paper in the kit to cut trees on my Cricut using the Close To My Heart Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge.

I glued all the pieces into place and coated them with five to six coats of Min-Wax Poly Acrylic Water Based Top Coat. I like this product because it washes up in my kitchen sink and doesn’t ruin my brush.

I am in love with my new chair!

Next week school starts back up! It will be the short one’s first day of Kindergarten and I am worried on many levels, mom stuff! I thought I would make a morning check list on a place mat to make getting ready in the morning a bit easier. The place mat is laminated so we can use dry erase markers to check the items off and start fresh every morning.

I used card stock to cut out the plate and silverware using my Cricut and the Creative Memories Traveler Cartridge and then I glued it down to an 11 x 17 sheet of green card stock that I drew pink lines all over with a sharpie. I created the title “Morning Check List” and the actual check list on the computer using the free font called Chalkduster, printed it onto coral colored card stock and glued it down to the large sheet. I finished it by adding a piece of alphabet tape and then laminating it. Summer is ending – it’s back to school time!

My lovely friend Sarah brought back a fabulous sheet of paper for me from her travels. I was instantly inspired and created a Snail Mail Thank You Note Card for her to say thank you for that and other goodies she brought me. I love this paper and while it is a floral number – I saw a snail in it!

We are headed out for our Summer road trip tomorrow. We are leaving Arizona and starting at the bottom of California in San Diego and driving all the way to the top to see the Redwood Forrest. We will stop all along the way to see sites and many friends. We are very likely to get caught in what is being coined “Carmageddon” so to ready ourselves for the boredom factor I created a road trip Boredom Buster tube. It is filled with several slips of paper listing games, hunts, sing-a-longs and so on. This should buy us hours of time if we are stuck sitting still. We are taking this trip in our newly renovated 1972 VW camper bus – I can not wait!

To create this project I used a plastic tube from the craft store and cut the stop light, camera and arrows using my Cricut and the Creative Memories Traveler Cartridge. I attached them to canvas and used markers to color them in.
