Lots more features coming soon!

The Cricut Expression 2: Anniversary Edition machine can quickly and easily be updated as new features become available. Some of the new features that are coming soon include:

  • Pause: Pause cutting whenever you wish, then resume right where you left off. Perfect for making adjustments on the fly!
  • Wi-fi compatible: Get wireless updates to your machine quickly and easily.
  • Image Spacing: Control the amount of space between shapes on your mat.
  • Tiling: Cut shapes much larger than the mat size. This feature takes a big image or phrase and separates it across multiple mats so you can cut it all out and piece it together. Great for vinyl wall décor, home décor, etc.
  • Tool Change: Change the blade or tool you’re working with in the middle of a cut. For example, use the blade to cut part of a shape, and then insert the Cricut pens to draw the rest!
  • Multi-language support: Select the language you would like to use right on the Expression 2 machine – English, French, and Spanish.

Rocking the Cupcake

I am so super excited about this rocking, blinged out pin cushion cupcake that I made. I used many new fun things. The “cupcake wrapper” is actually a Silicone Baking Cup made by Wilton and it is filled with ground up walnut shells. The pink fabric that serves as the icing is made by using Texture Magic by Superior Threads. I am seriously in love with this stuff – it is sort of like shrinky dink for fabric – so super cool! Then I used the new irock by Imaginisce to bling out the button on the top and the ribbon on the side. Oh what fun that thing is! But be careful and do not let children use unsupervised as it gets really hot. I am crazy for how many “hot rock” colors they have. xoxo happy crafting LL

Disclosure I was given the irock product for free to play with.

Baking Studio

Some of the fun I will get to have this summer will happen when my new Cricut Cake arrives in just a few short weeks. In preparation for all the baking fun I’ll be having I decided to transform part of my pantry into a baking studio. I figured it needed some organizational attention anyway so why not make it a fun project!

One thing that came out of this plan was a hunt for hot pink wood grain oil cloth. Well guess what it does not yet exist. Sad,  I still couldn’t let go so I found hot pink wood grain fabric and did a little research on how to make my own oil cloth. By miracle of miracles there is a product on the market to assist with this! It is called Heat-N-Bond Iron On Vinyl Protection. For simple Instructions on how to do it click here for the Homemade Oil Cloth How To

For the Baking Studio I used wooden drawer systems from IKEA to put all the small stuff it. I created labels for every drawer by cutting chalkboard oil cloth and stitching it to some of the wood grain fabric then I wrote the contents of each drawer on each label in white chalk.

My Kitchen Aid Mixer is in place, as is my tool caddy with tips and colors. Now I just need my Cricut Cake to arrive and I’ll be baking and decorating like mad. Maybe while I wait I’ll bake some regular old cupcakes.
